13/7/18 TRENCHES: 2/Lieut J NEWELL and CB NEWELL joined Battalion.

Cecil Bertram Newell from Maccelsfield was Commissioned in December 1917 and arrived in France in June 1918. He served with the 1/6th Battalion from 13th July 1918 and was still serving at the end of the War. Was awarded the Military Cross.

John Newell from Dungannon in Country Tyrone. Commissioned December 1917. Transfered to the 39th Battalion Machine Gun Corps on 12th September 1918.
