The 1907, 1908, 1909, and 1911 Editions of the ‘Year Book’ for the 2nd Volunteer Battalion, Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derby) Regiment.

The 1907-1909 Editions belonged to 1315 Pte George Holmes of “H” (Whaley Bridge) Company, with Sergt Beard as his Section Leader.

George Holmes was born in 1868 and enlisted in 1883 (aged 15). George married Eliza in 1889 and the books are inscribed by their daughter Edna May born in 1898. They had 5 children. He was a member of the “Rock Division” Sons of Temperance in Whaley Bridge.
