A Pre-War Territorial who died on the 1st day of the Somme

Two photographs showing 1578 Pte. Percy Wildsmith (with cross over head and bottom right in lower picture), possibly of “A” Company. Both of these postcards are part of the H. P. Hansen Series from 1912.
Percy arrived in France with 46th North Midland Division in March 1915
Percy’s body was not recovered after the War and he is now commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing
Brilliant photos Mike, John Gregory
Thanks John, glad you like them. In 1911 he lived at the Seven Stars Inn on Nottingham Road – is it possible to guess his Company?
Hi Mike, as you most likely know at the time of his death his parents were living at 106 Leonard Street, Derby. ‘A’ coy ? does Bronno or Housley know ? regards John
