6542 Pte Levi Tetley

A Derby Scheme man who was mobilised in 1916Tet 1tet 2

Post Card written to 6542 Levi Tetley by his brother Leslie and posted on the 3rd January 1917. At that time Levi was serving with G Company of the 5th Reserve Battalion, which were on Garrison Duty at Louth in Lincolnshire.

1911 Tetley CensusIn the 1911 Census, the Tetley Family were living at 7 Wesley Grove in Carsington, Nottinghamshire. Levi was aged 14 and a Telegraph Messenger, whilst his father Arthur (b. 1875) was a letter carrier and his mother Eliza (b.1876) was at home. Levi also had 6 younger brothers and sisters; Beatrice (b. 1899), Galdys Ivy (b. 1902), May (b. 1904), Leslie (b. 1906), Daris (b. 1908) and Chrissie Everline (b. 1910).
