Mobilised in August 1916 and posted to the 5th Reserve Battalion

Arrived in France October 1917 and posted to 1st Battalion. Wounded June 1918 and returned home for discharge

Samuel Osborne was 18 years of age and a weaver from East Leake when he attested in June 1916. On the 25th August 1916 he was mobilised and posted to the 5th Reserve Battalion Sherwood Foresters on the 18th November 1916.

Samuel arrived in France on the 4th October 1917 and was probably initially posted to the 1/5th Battalion before transferring to the 1st Battalion on the 17th October 1917.
