Tom was wounded between the 21st-30th June whilst the 2/6th Battalion were holding the front line trenches. Also killed at that time was 2/Lt Edward Neville Bewley.

Tom Finch died of wounds in Lady Carnarvan’s Hospital for Officers in London on the 20th October 1917.
