8th: German field gun fired a few rounds into the “Willows” Sector just before dawn. Our 14 & 15 SAPS again shelled during the night only slight damage being done.

Several hostile bombing parties were shelled by our artillery during the night. In front of our CAVENDISH SAP a Lewis Gun was taken out by a patrol to within 100 yards of the German line and fired with effect
