May 6th: The Brigade moved in accordance with attached copy of Operations Order 55 and billeted the night as under

  • Bde HQrs at IVERGNY
  • 6th Battn SF at IVERGNY
  • 7th Battn SF at IVERGNY
  • 8th Battn SF at REBREUVIETTE
  • Bde MG Coy at CANNOTTEMENT
  • 139/1 & 139/2 ™ Batts at CANNOTTEMENT

The Division is now on its way to join the VIIth Corps having left the XVIIth Corps.

The billets are very good and everyone will be sorry to move.

The Units of the Brigade moved in accordance with O.O.47. Units rested for the night as under:-

  • Brigade Headquarters at IVERGNY
  • 5th Battn SF at MONT ST ELOY
  • 6th Battn SF at MAIZIERES
  • 7th Battn SF at ACQ
  • 8th Battn SF at MAIZIERS
  • Bde MG Coy at MONT ST ELOY

The above marches were well done and very few men fell out. The Brigadier General Commanding the Bde and Brigade Major visited the Sector trenches to be taken over from the 152nd French Division.Operation Order 47 March 1916

It was a very difficult route march as there was snow on the ground, and a hard frost the previous night had made the roads very slippery in the early part of the march.
