Enlisted in October 1914; Served with “B” Company and later with the Trench Mortar Battery. An enquiry was later sent to the Red Cross regarding his capture.
The different spellings of his name make him a difficult man to track down.

private Walter Nadin(naden) was my grandfather – He was from a quarrying family and he resided in chapel en Le Frith. He has a road named after him in the neighbouring village of Whaley Bridge. He married Gertrude Lomas of Whaley Bridge
