No record in the War Diary [WO/95/2694]
Sept 19th. Came off listening post about 4-30 & then same as yesterday till teatime. Went on fatigue at 8 p.m. Very nice day again. Hill 60 bombarded again.

The men killed during this bombardment were all from “A” Company:-
- 1900 Pte. William Clarke aged 21 and a machine hand from Lordsmill Street.
- 2097 Pte. Ralph Ellis aged 21 and a drilling machinist from Stonegravels.
- 2344 Sergt. John McBride aged 37 and a Drayman from Spital Lane.
- 1890 Pte. John Roberts aged 23 and from Brimington.
The men were buried next to each other in Chester Farm Cemetery.
The wounded men included:-
