Mike, regarding the unidentified Bandsman wearing the Egypt Pair of medals. I would say with confidence that he didn’t serve with the Derbyshire Regt for that particular campaign as the Derbyshire’s were only awarded the Egypt medal and no clasps, unless he was attached to another regiment but three clasps would still be extremely unlikely. Mel.
Mel, many thanks for the info -its got me pondering. I know you’re right of course. Do you think that it is still an Egypt medal – but a different Regiment?
Mike, yes it is the Egypt Pair and he obviously served with another regiment to get that combination of clasps. I will try and identify this man for you if I can.
