Enlisted January 1915 into the 6th Reserve Battalion

Arrived in France with the IV Reinforcement in October 1915

Lawrence arrived in France with the IVth Reinforcement on the 28th October 1915.

He was initially attached to the 9th Entrenching Battalion before going the 1/6th Battalion ‘in the field’ on the 12th December 1915.

Lawrence was killed in action on the 30th May 1916 whilst the Battalion were holding the front line trenches at Fonquevillers. He was the only man of the 1/6th Battalion to be killed during this trench duty.
